What began 5 years ago as a photographic study of a tulip quickly blossomed into a love of photography and a photo library of more than 2,500 floral images covering everything from Amaryllis to Zinnia.
“I guess what drew me to flowers as photographic subjects would have to be their gracefulness and vivid colors. Plus they can always sit still during a shoot”
Philip Rugel is a Michigan native currently residing in Battle Creek.
Galleries in both Michigan and Indiana feature Philip’s work. He has also participated in regional art fairs including “Holiday Art Show” (Saugatuck), “Art on the Rocks” (Marquette), “Art on the Waterfront” (Grand Haven), and “The Festival of the Forks” (Albion).
