When did your passion for art begin? The seeds of creativity were planted into my psyche at a young age and I knew I was destined to be an Artist. As a child my work attracted much admiration, comments & awards, which left a lasting impression (I entered newspaper colouring-in competitions on a weekly basis & this provided hundreds of prizes & my only pocket money). Drawing and painting has always been second nature. Describe your work. I’m really into the infinite colour. Stylistically, I move fluidly between the polar opposites of realism and abstraction; I embrace variety in my style & subjects. I have a strong passion for painting 2D works with a painterly style. I work mainly in acrylic. My diverse collection is bulging with 60+ works. I enjoy stirring the emotions and curiosity of the viewers. What inspires you? Riding the creative rapids is an exhilarating experience. I want to paint everything & I hope that my lifetime will allow me the luxury to do this. Name your greatest achievement. I would have to live forever to reach my full potential. I am thrilled to have recently established my own studio, Kasarn Designs, where clients have economical access to Australia’s best work in the visual arts. I would like to contribute to the sustainability of cultural development by supporting, promoting and encouraging a vibrant and diverse arts cultural sector. What would be your advice for budding artists? An artist's income is rarely commensurate with the skill, energy and materials used to create their art. The irregularity and uncertainty of income becomes stressful, particularly as an artist matures and has household commitments to meet. Don’t let this dampen your compulsion to create, select ideas, and elegantly craft them into a work of beauty and depth. Artists also need space to think, to access their subconscious and to be receptive to ideas.
