Welcome to "LightCircle Art". Creating is an expression of my spirit because as an artist I paint not only with my hand, but with my soul. I create Wearable Art, Portraits, Abstracts and Mystical Art. My ArtWear started out because I wanted to "wear" my art in public and found that other people enjoy being a "moving exhibit" too, especially when I custom design and paint art just for them. My designs are all "one-of-a kind" paintings on denim. I use permanent acrylic fabric paints on jackets, jeans, totes and skirts. Some of the subjects I've painted on denim are sculptures, portraits, pets, florals, abstracts, symbols, motorcycles, henna designs, mendi designs and cultural designs. I also have a passion for portraiture because I'm intrigued with capturing the "spark" in someone's eyes, the look on their face and capturing part of their character and soul. I enjoy drawing portraits of babies, children, teens, adults and "four-pawed children" (pets). I use either graphite or permanent artist quality colored pencils on 100% archival cotton paper. Each portrait takes between 8 and 90 hours to complete (depending on the amount of detail in the clothing and how many people are portrayed in the portrait). As for my abstracts, they started out as a way for me to relax more around the creative process, instead of having to be so precise and detailed like I have to be with my portraits. Creating art has been a life long pursuit for me. My passion is creating through drawing, painting and digital art (Photoshop). I have a BFA from Ohio University (Major: Drawing, Painting, Illustration. Minor: Art History) I've worked as a free-lance artist, portrait artist and have taught drawing to elementary and middle school students. I've also taught private drawing lessons to children and adults, both in groups and private lessons. I still teach drawing skills and portraiture to groups and individuals. Currently I am still a commissioned portrait artist and commissioned ArtWear Artist as well as continuing work with my abstracts and "ready to buy" wearable art.
