I am influenced by the French Impressionist painters. Out of all the places in the world, I find that Hawaii has the most interesting light. The play of light on water and foliage inspires me. I paint in oils because it allows me to create texture so that my paintings have a sculptural quality as well. That is the reason I do not reproduce my work as giclees and I only sell my paintings as originals.
When I am bewildered, I find refuge in the world of my creation.
Poets create worlds with words. Fleurette creates with paint. Jeannine Levitt-Riccio has always been an artist.
As a young child, instead of concentrating on her religious studies, Jeannine painted the beautiful flowers in the convent gardens, thus earning her the name Fleurette.
She is influenced by the works of the French Impressionist masters, capturing the light and feel of the moment, especially in landscape.
After traveling the world and living in Paris, New York, and Palm Springs, she now focuses her energy on her paintings. Her true talents emerged when she moved to Hawaii 30 years ago. The awe-inspiring beauty and power of the sea, in conjunction with the majesty of the mountains stirred the artist to create new works focusing on the spiritual and emotive aspects of the landscape. They are expressions of an inner world of beauty and a deep appreciation for nature.
We invite you to experience the beauty that is Fleurette.
