I want to capture that singular moment when what I feel inside is represented by the world around me. When the light highlights the tiny hairs on the leaves of the Lumina pumpkin seedling. Or when the raspberry jam glistens like lacquered nails. Or when my kids stand, face forward to the sea, crying and laughing in their joy.
I use a camera instead of an artist's brush. I take picture after picture after picture when I sense those moments exist...and even then, it is only a precious few that actually survive...
Life is juicy, lush, delicious...I need to capture the moments so I can re-experience them over and over. Beauty is essential to life. I have spent my life capturing it in words, now in photographs.
My Master's in Social Work adds a lens of compassion, connectedness and clarity to my work. I capture what inspires me, to inhale the symbolism and exhale a magical work of art.
