I like objects that I paint to look like they do in real life. Perhaps I lack the imagination to see objects in blobs and streaks, but that's me. I may not succeed everytime, but I do my best to paint what I see as accurate as I can.
If that make sense to you, you will probably like my art.
Still "pressing toward the mark"
Don
I was born and raised in the Appalachians Mountains of West Virginia and western Maryland. Love for drawing started around age six and escalated through my teens into adulthood. Wanting to better my talent I enrolled in the "Famous Artist " correspondence course, I still have those books in my library and refer to them on occasion. God's call on my life changed my desires and direction.
I have been an evangelist chalk-artist for over three decades preaching in churches through out America. I love all of nature, whether it be the animal world or the beautiful landscapes, all this is reflected in my art. While I am best known as a chalk-artist, I also work in oils and acrylics. Many of the pictures on display are chalk drawings painted in church services, but the wildlife paintings were painted in my Kentucky home studio using acrylics.
It is my desire to produce paintings that will glorify God and His handiwork and be a blessing to the homes in which they hang.
