Photography for me is discovery, reflection and emotion, a revealing of my personal journey through life. I most enjoy photographing subjects that make me feel something. It is often recognition of beauty in the unexpected, wonderment of days gone by, or connecting with nature and wildlife. My photography is a personal journey as I aspire to improve my craft. I love shooting, editing, creating. I enjoy every minute of the process.

I was born and raised in Arkansas, have lived in Oklahoma, and now in Tennessee. I have had opportunities to do some traveling inside the United States that has taken me to many rural areas. I have found that beauty is all around me. It is one of my greatest joys in life to showcase the beauty as I see it through the art of photography. While attending college and graduate school, working on degrees in Sociology, I had the opportunity to buy my first SLR film camera and complete several Photography classes. I learned a great deal about the darkroom. I learned very little about shooting. I found quickly, shooting as much as possible was the best way to learn. I worked for 3 companies as a portrait photographer and learned a great deal there. I study other photographer's work and read as much as I can on the subject. I love the process of improving my work.But, most of all, I love just doing it.
