Through the years I've explored many mediums, styles and techniques. I love the creative process of taking an idea or vision and seeing it come to life on paper or canvas. My continued exploration of various mediums feeds my love for expression while I continue to find my artistic voice. I don't like to be tied to any one style, medium, or process which is why my work seems to have a very diverse look and feel. To me this diversity is part of my creative process and my own personal artistic exploration. Each of my works has strong meaning to me and reveals a moment in my path of this journey of artistic expression.
From early high school through today Shane has explored just about every form of art. His main focuses were/are photography, graphic design, mechanical drawing and sculpture. Through paint and experimenting in silk screening, he turned his printing into a small business. First printing his unique designs on shirts, and then printing on canvas and paper. All the while creating his own painting and printing combination technique which he still uses to this day.
Through his job experiences in architecture, graphic design, marketing, special event design, among others, his passion remained with his artistic side and the desire to be feeding his creativeness.
His current passions lie in painting, silk screening and also working in fabric. A special unique style found in his work is carried though each medium. His sense of color, shape and form come from years of his artistic exploration and taking inspiration from many influential artists and designers. Some of his recent work also explores the combination of printing, painting and drawing as he layers images creating a unique depth in the work.
Recent works, such as the hand tied rugs, show his continued exploration of various mediums and constantly looking to challenge his creative side. These rugs take many hours to months each to make and can be used as an actual rug or displayed on the wall as a work of art. Commissioned pieces, as well as custom design projects are always welcomed.
