Basically, I find myself with my work in some sort of artistic Twilight Zone... I have stumbled upon a new direction with old subject matter and I can't seem to find my "niche". I don't seem to fit in with any of the established artistic circles and my style seems to defy description. And I don't really know if that's a good thing or a bad thing- I guess it depends on who you ask. But it is what it is. And I try to buddy up with folk art folks and the wildlife art people and uber-cool lowbrow crowd and the really fascinating art brut group, but I have yet to be embraced... So I guess I'm just doing my own thing under the very large "contemporary art" umbrella and maybe I'm onto something because sometimes people find my work and seem to really like it. Sometimes, it even sells. And that makes me pretty happy and encourages me to keep going.

In brief, I was born to two very old-world European parents and raised in the Bay Area in California. It was good. Interesting and slightly unusual, but good. A story about keeping chickens in a middle-class suburb comes to mind when I recall my childhood. Then there was that time with the goat. And don't get me started on the rabbit story...
Anyway... Almost two years ago, I sold my house and left a well-paying job in forensic science (with FULL benefits!) to pursue my artwork full-time. I've had a chance to create a lrage body of new work. And in the mean time, my fiance and I moved to the Portland area so I'm now I'm a happy inhabitant of the Pacific Northwest.
I have a lengthy biography posted on my main web site (BoboJunket dot com). You can read all about me- my highs and lows, my failures, successes and food preferences at that site. You can also link to my cafepress site (which has cool cartoon stuff I don't have posted here) and all my other sites and projects.
