I believe in higher power and fairytale magic. Mind games can be dangerous, but immeasurably beneficial if you know how to use your thoughts. Dreams are necessary to survive and achieve nirvana of your universe.
Creating a beautiful wonderland is what I'm longing for but I believe that at times an emotional tragedy is the force to inspiration, path to self discovery as well as personal improvement.
Life and state of mind reflects in my art... It is almost like writing music, poetry or an autobiography but through help of unknown forms rather then letters...
A Native of the country of Georgia, *Erna Leon* Barsegian was born in 1980 to an Armenian family. She grew up in an artsy and creative environment - her father being a well-known jazz musician and her mother being a classical pianist and jewelry maker - which supported and inspired Erna’s passion to paint. When she was only three years old she began taking art classes which one year later was followed by her very first art exhibition. Erna Leon first studied fine arts at the Nickoladze College of Art. She was also a student at the Academy of Art & Design where she majored in Fashion. After immigrating to the United States of America she enrolled as a student at Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002.
Erna Leon’s work has been presented during various occasions both in her native country and in the United States. Among the Georgian Public Library, and the “Junior Delphic” Artist Group show in Georgia, as well as several shows in New York City’s “50:50 gallery” in Chelsea, FIT shows and its Museum, Cooper Union Art gallery - for the Armenian Genocide event in 2004, Solo Exhibition in 2006 sponsored by Crobar Art Gallery, another Solo Art Show in September 2007 at NYC's Chelsea Market ~ were venues and special events Erna Leon Barsegian exposed her art work to the public. Recently she entered a national juried Art Competition for the Best Female Artist sponsored by Biore` & GenArt and got nominated along with 2 other finalists.
Erna Leon currently resides in NYC's Greenwich Village pursuing her Fashion career as well as her passion for Arts.
