In my art I look for the complex beauty of simple subjects...not missing important details for the emerging presentation.
Art for me is a special picture dictionary. It helps me to translate the visuals, the thoughts, the impressions, into one. The projection called artpiece. The biggest challenge is the empty paper.....All the possibilities!!!
Contrast, and Texture is my best friend during creation. These days I turned to my good old buddy, graphite, and graphite pencil...; I use high quality acid free papers for the wessel to carry my children on their surface. Paper is important in creating textures, it's behaving like a rock, or wood for a sculptor. Their properties are important factor in what the "chisel'-pencil can bring into the surface. I am just holding this tool...help it to move.
In my formal years in my native country - Hungary, I had a significant interest in art and I spent lot of time drawing and painting. I received an Associate Degree in Occupational Studies from Pratt Institute in New York, but I consider myself as a self trained artist. My favorite medium is graphite and oil, but I also work with pastel and color pencil.
My childhood memories are of the times when I spent many hours reading beautifully illustrated fairy tale books. This consistent activity resulted in drawing my own illustrations for home work assignments, especially for history classes.
Over the few years, my passion for drawing has generated a collection of unique sketches and drawings.

In 2006 I also enjoyed doing commissioned portraits of pets,as I believe their impression and presence can be preserved in the personal and poetic presentation of the graphite.

Drawings and paintings allows me to reflect my emotions and responses of my subject to paper, or canvas. Sometimes it takes more time, sometime it takes less. The end result has to satisfy my own -very strict - critique. I am a self represent artist, living in California.
I am most inspired by the works of Leonardo Da Vinci, Michealangelo Buonarotti ,the illustration of Arthur Rackham, and the hungarian Peter Balogh, who passed away at young age.
My favorite passtime is traveling, hiking, taking photographs, and gardening - with my faithful dog, Sugar.
