To me art is a form of expression as the subjects come spontaneously. If I were a writer it would called "Stream of consciousness"! As I go along, spots will transform into shapes and shapes into people, blotches into butterflies or magic flowers! I never in fact plan a painting, it just "comes" and expresses itself onto a blank canvas! This sort of reconnecting with innermost feelings is helpful. It produces art that might actually "talk to people", as they start to develop an affinity or understanding of the art piece. The colorful subjects that you can see here dealing with butterflies were created through synesthetic experiences, mostly while listening to Opera. You might notice the decor-like quality in these pieces, an involuntary reference to stage-decors. Synesthesia can occur between nearly any two senses or perceptual modes. Hearing with vision!***Any request for the original version of any art seeing here please send me a note.
While preparing a career as a window-dresser in France, I was introduced to many facets of art, including architectural design.
My moving to the U.S. interrupted these plans while giving me other bright opportunities.
The avid interest in art however intact, was left simmering! Until this morning of 1996 when I discovered digital art! Combining my love for computers with painting! I soon found out that an artist and a computer could actually work closely in concert, even develop a style and practically a special alchemy together!
Freeing the unconscious and letting creativity get loose was and still is a major part of the process for me!
My favorite subject is Fantasy, preferred software: PSP and I use a mouse. I find plug-ins also to be fun, very useful in creating rich textures and special effects as seen in some of my more recent paintings.
I hope that you'll enjoy your walk through the colors of my world!
