Dave Danchuk has been creating his artwork using an unusual tool, a scrollsaw. He starts with a piece of MDF or plywood, draws his design directly on the wood, making sure that all the lines of the drawing connect to either the edge or another line. He then cuts out each piece (sometimes hundreds per piece) using his Dewalt scrollsaw. Each piece is then hand painted with acrylics, making sure that no two pieces that are side by side are of the same color.
His work can be found in various parts of North America, and he is open to doing commissioned pieces as well.
