If you’ve ever faced the dilemma of trying to find just the right piece of custom artwork to finish off your walls or the walls of a client (if you're an interior designer), then you know it can be a daunting and often distracting task. It has to match the colors of the room, have a subject matter that you enjoy, and also be the right size. Rarely do you find all these elements by chance.
My name is Brian Thomas O’Rourke and I am a Chicago-area artist specializing in the creation of custom abstract paintings that uniformly blend with newly completed residential or commercial interior design projects. I also have a variety of photographs available for puchase as prints.
With over 10 years of experience, my paintings are available in all sizes, including over-sized work for lofts and commercial applications. All of the artwork is 100% original and guaranteed to match the color palette of your project when custom designed. Often times, the very same paint from your project can be utilized in the creation of the pieces.
I welcome the opportunity to share my work with you.
I am a balanced right-brained / left-brained individual. I have been blessed with artistic talent from both sides of my family. In my earliest years I was fortunate in that I benefited from a very strong artistic curriculum in the public schools I attended. Drawing cartoons and cars, things that made other people laugh or I could fantasize about were my distractions from the world. As I began to develop my professional ambition, I decided that being an architect would be the ideal profession for me. It was devastating my freshman year of college to realize that I just didn't have the mathematical knack needed to become an architect. I took a step back, reexamined my life, and realized that it was God's ways of telling me I was meant to do other things. I decided to study business my sophomore year of college and honed my left-brained interests. I graduated with a degree in Marketing. I find it to be the most artistic side of business and a wonderful balance for anyone who finds themselves on that right-brained, left-brained fence.
Since I work on the media side of advertising, things can get pretty chaotic at times. I tend to look to my innate artistic talents to save me from the every day stress. I paint or take photographs when I have the free time.
If you love my work and it speaks to you, then buy it. If it doesn't, then don't. It's my creative release and if it brings the same release to you in looking at it, then we've shared something. Enjoy.
