There's nothing new under the sun. Even in our modern society, the emotions we deal with every day are the same as those experienced thousands of years ago. Only our media has made our world smaller. And it's via this media that we come face to face with the harshness of our world. When the atrocities of our little planet become the weave of our daily lives, it's easy to forget all the wonder that surrounds us. I seek the beauty which resonates beyond time, that sings to the ancient soul, and calls humanity to become more than it is. I believe in noble hearts and fantastic places. It's time to rekindle the majesty all around us.
When asked the question, “Which comes first: the chicken or the egg?” Dawn at the age of 4 answered, “The nest.” But for her art, storytelling came first. She grew up with so many stories she wanted to tell and spent hours deep into the night writing them down. She loved to read comics in her spare time, but it never occurred to her to illustrate her stories. After all, she couldn't cut straight, paste, color, or draw.
Many years later, Dawn took a class on drawing and it changed her life. She discovered a new passion in the visual side of art. Since then, her full line of artwork has grown to include a published story and several articles, painting, photography, and graphic novels. This versatile artist is emerging with a great career ahead. Her art has won several local awards and has a growing group of collectors thoughout the United States. She made her first international sale in 2008.
