Oh, what to write . . .?
I have been to many places, all over the world, New York, Kathmandu, Paris, Bangkok, Maui, Honolulu, LA, Austin. . to name a few.
After Maui I moved to Oahu and Attended at the University of Hawaii. YES, I WAS ON THE SHOW "LOST"... I studied an array of artistic influences including Glass, Ceramics, Welding, Metal Casting, Painting, Digital Media and Sound. What a magnificent place to go to college, and be able to experiment with so many different mediums and cultural influences, all rolled up into one environment.
I went to the Sorbonne Paris and studied 19th Century Art and civilization. I delved into the Louvre and the Musee Dorse spending many days walking the halls taking photos, sketches and Videos. I traveled to other cites in Europe spending months on the road studying the art of different cultures.
Lately I have been dabbling in 3D design, a style sure to stand on it's own 3rd dimension.
I have been living out my adventures and creating art work for your pleasure, to share my love, my vibe and a little slice of my world with you. I won't be here forever, and my art will change. But I will always remain true to my soul, that of an artist.
Invoking the spirit through vibrant color and simplicity within complex imagery. Organic beauty mixed with a modern pop art feel, my spiritual side exudes within my works.Multiple Dimensions within the paintings. Visiting a sense of place and vibrancy.
I have done a number of commissions in the last year. I do my best to honor my work in everything I do. Being a professional artist is an interesting business. People you don' know contact you, and wish for you to create something for them. I find this fascinating, and inspiring, I love a good challenge.
"Is it done?" This is what I wrestle with. After committing 40-60-100 hours and weeks into one of my works. Haunted by desire to capture my ever changing visions. I could always revisit one of my works and see something new I would like to do to it today.
I like to make images that explore the boundaries of your mind. Many of my works are expressions of thoughts or feelings I experience, and try to relate things you can't put into words in an image for others to enjoy. I like to hide other images in my works with extreme detail. Look into my art and see something different. When you can look into a piece of art and convey emotion, an experience of nostalgia, or knowing. When images break free of the canvas and stand alone. You no longer looking at a painting, you experience it.
Art should always have a spirit, a third or forth dimension.
I hope you enjoy my art half as much as I enjoy making it.
