About this work:
This painting was inspired by the Druids, priests of ancient Celtic nature religion. The word Druid is derived from the word for oak. I took the idea of the Druids' close association with nature and trees one step further to come up with this image where the Druid of the painting's title is actually the spirit inhabiting the tree.
