This image is of a 20" x 24" painting depicting the Andrew Pinckney Inn in Charleston, SC as seen in August, 2007. It is located in the historic market district near where horse drawn trolleys depart for a tour of the the antebellum homes in the area.

This is a painting of the interior of the Mecca Restaurant in downtown Raleigh, NC. It has been in the same family for generations and is well known for its fair prices, friendly service, and nostalgic atmosphere. The painting includes one of the waitresses, a patron reflected in the mirror on the left, the oft-reupholsterded barstools, and the edge of one of the booth tables in the foreground. The time is early evening at 6:05 PM, according to the clock on top of the mirrored cabinet at the right.

6:05 at the Mecca Cafe

This is a painting of a rundown rural farmstead on a dirt road at sunset. There is a man with a cane walking down the road looking toward the glowing windows of the house. It's obvious someone is at home, but it's unclear if the house shown is the man's destination. He is enduring his continued journey, just as the house and barn are enduring the ravages of time.

30" x 34" painting of a farmhouse porch with two rocking chairs, a potted geranium and two chickens in the yard. It depicts a sunny day. The porch is unoccupied. The chickens and the plants are the only signs of life.

Red Cows on Grapevine Road

Painting of an old abandoned and derelict 1938 (?) Ford car that I found on a farm in North Carolina. The engine and wheels are missing, as are the windows. It sits in dappled sunlight in a thin pine grove next to the side of an old barn where two old license plates have been attached.

Blue Ford

This is a painting of an old country store that is still in business a few miles north of Clayton, NC, USA. I painted it in late afternoon light after a rain shower when the only signs of life around the place were a comfortable looking dog and a couple of chickens. It appears that the store sells
