What the artist says about this work:
The great Willie Mays was the subject of the artist's first attempt to depict the human form with the metal medium. Pepsi and root beer cans were used for the bleachers and lemon/lime sodas for the infield grass. The slugger's skin tones come from cans of chocolate drink, cream soda and root beer.
