About this work:
Bright colors enliven this charming painting of a mermaid combing her hair. It is unclear where the artist found his inspiration, but although the style is different, the subject is reminiscent of the little mermaid of Copenhagen Harbor, and the Hans Christian Anderson fable from which she arose.
